Anthony Speta, Intern Clinician
I'm a Masters level student at Trinity Western University in the Counselling Psychology program. The foundation of my approach is person-centred. I believe counselling should be a collaborative process that works to serve you best. I also believe that a relationship of trust and authenticity is essential to counselling. In addition, I employ Narrative Therapy, an approach that allows you to take back your story and begin moving toward the life you want.
I believe that the stories we tell about ourselves and who we choose to share those stories with are integral to flourishing. Above all, I believe in catering my approach to my clients and using what approaches will help them heal best. I find that Sandtray is a great tool for exploration and expression. I utilize AEDP techniques to facilitate conversations about core emotions. Lastly, I find a lot of value in mindfulness and grounding exercises to regulate emotions and feel better.
